I miss this place, I should be more devious.

I haven't started either book. I was at the library and I saw White Like Me and remembered it being mentioned in my women's studies class. It's about white privilege, if you care. The other I found at a cd store on the dollar book bookshelf. The Golden Notebook has something to do with women's liberation movements.
